Diabetes Talk is April 2
Norwalk, CT, March 20, 2008 – The Weston Senior Center will host a program called Diabetes and Your Feet – Taking Charge with Westonite Dr. Harris Greenberger of Sound Foot Care Center of Connecticut on Wednesday, April 2, 11:15, at Norfield Congregational Church, 64 Norfield Road
The program will include diabetic foot screenings and a question and answer session. Lunch will be served following the program.
Diabetes is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the United States: It is not commonly known that diabetes symptoms often show up initially in the feet.
Diabetes can be treated and Type 2 diabetes can be prevented.
Dr. Greenberger will explain how a simple foot exam can reveal the first signs and symptoms of diabetes; who is at risk; what is the connection with diabetes and high blood pressure, how to be pro-active and prevent Type 2 Diabetes, and how to take charge and prevent complications of Type 2 Diabetes.
